Podcast

With so many people on the go all the time, Podcasts are an amazing new tool that is often used to entertain but also to educate and motivate. Personally, I love listening to podcasts when I am getting myself ready for the day. I find one of my favorite podcasts, press that play button and feel like some of my best friends are hanging out and chatting with me while I put on my makeup or fix my hair. The other time I like to listen to podcasts is while I am in the car commuting from one activity to the next. Again-how awesome is it that you can feel like you are sitting down with a cup of coffee and a friend while accomplishing things that you need to get to throughout the day. While I have never met most of the podcast hosts that I listen to, I feel like we are old friends because they somewhat spend time with me often and they speak into my life.

I am thrilled to announce that I will be starting a Podcast some time this year. I am currently working on all the backdrop and legwork to make sure that when the podcast launches, it brings value to the space and to those who listen to it. I hope to have it launched by the end of 2024.

My podcast is going to have two different styles within the same platform. On Mondays, I will be coming to you by myself and sharing things that I have learned over my years of both being a Christian and running a small business. I tried a short YouTube series that I called “The Bible and Your Business” several years ago and it received great feedback. I plan to revisit that little idea I had and build it even more. I want to come to my audience and chat about how God created the whole idea of business and the fact that our Father wants your business to succeed. Man, running a small business is not for the faint of heart. I know that fact well. My goal is to come with weekly encouragement along with scripture to motivate and empower small business owners to help them get through the grind of the work.

I am really most excited about Friday Friends. Each Friday I will be spending some time interviewing female entrepreneurs in my community and beyond. I have so many inspiring women that I am surrounded by and they all have beautiful stories that need to be shared. I will be focusing on females who have side hustles, small ministries, or even larger businesses that started out small. It is so empowering to hear how other business owners have been able to build their dreams with the world stacked against them.

Friday Friends is going to be fabulous, I just know it. Since my first book and my main speaking platform is on finding God’s calling for your life as well as discovering your endless potential of your gifts and talents, Friday Friends will play perfectly into that. These business owners and entrepreneurs have all done just that; they have all focused on their gifts and talents to build these side hustles, ministries and businesses. The most beautiful part is that the businesses that I will be interviewing about are so vastly different. I plan to talk to people who have decided to walk away from corporate work to build a ministry in their field. Another woman built a business from a little fundraiser that she started to raise money to pay medical bills. I have a friend that started a clothing resale business in her garage that is now a Nation-wide franchise of businesses. While all of these are very different, they have some commonality: female-owned, Christian beliefs, and tenacity to make it work! God has got these women’s backs and their stories need to be told along with several others.
Since I enjoy listening to podcasts while I prepare myself for my day or while commuting from one appointment to another, my plan is to keep the podcast within that time limit of 20-30 minutes. It is the perfect length of time to fully and completely share a thought or a great story without interrupting the activities of the day.
